Getting everything you can out of all you've got

Most people think they need more — more qualifications, more time, more connections, more responsibility, more confidence — before they can grow their career.

But the real breakthroughs come from getting everything you can out of everything you already have.

And that starts with an inventory. Not of stuff — but of questions.

Questions like:

Personal Inventory

  • → What resources do I already have that I’m not fully using?

  • → How am I spending my time and how could I be more efficient?

  • → Where is my energy actually going?

  • → What systems help me — and which slow me down?

Soft Skills

  • → Which skills do people consistently appreciate in me?

  • → What strengths am I underestimating?

  • → Which abilities feel “natural” that others find valuable?

Technical & Commercial Skills

  • → What can I already do well enough to create opportunities?

  • → What do others come to me for advice on?

  • → Where have I solved problems that could translate into new work?

Specialist Knowledge

  • → What subjects or areas do I know more about than the average person?

  • → What topics could I talk about for hours?

  • → Who could I partner with to leverage this knowledge more?

Environment & Tools

  • → What spaces help me think clearly?

  • → What tools, devices or tech am I under-using?

  • → What could I optimise without spending a cent?

Work & Network

  • → Who in my network would happily help me if I reached out?

  • → Who have I lost touch with that I should reconnect with?

  • → Where am I visible — and where am I invisible?

Content & Distribution

  • → What knowledge have I already shared that I could repurpose?

  • → What platforms do I already have access to but rarely use?

When you ask these questions, you realise something important:

You already have more leverage than you think.

You don’t need to start from zero — you just need to start.
