Your Year in Review — Moving fast, but in the right direction?
While heading home from a road trip earlier this year – exhausted from the time away and overwhelmed with navigating tricky roads, I relied on the GPS without question.
But after an hour of driving, my friends realised the GPS had rerouted us to an electric charging station which was totally off course. All that speed and careful driving meant nothing because we were headed in the wrong direction!
Have ever found yourself in the same situation — going so fast you don’t have time to check if the direction still serves you? Being too busy to reflect on your direction is like being too busy to stop for fuel — yet many of us do this with our growth and goals.
So before the year closes its notebook, pause and reflect on where you’ve been and where you’re going, asking yourself:
What challenges did you face?
Where did you learn and grow?
What did you accomplish?
How did you step up as the leader only you can be?
How did you manage your energy and focus?
What was your most important lesson of the year?
Does your current direction still serve you?
What do you want to create or achieve in 2026?
Now here’s the question only you can answer: Will you keep driving fast — or take the time to refuel, reflect, and set your focus on the exact path you want in 2026? If you’re ready to turn your reflections into a fiercely clear plan that fuels your biggest year yet, hit reply.
As for my friends and I, we eventually got home — but had I been going slower, we would have been quicker! No need to double back.
P.S. My biggest learning this year was that goals are fragile without systems. Good systems are resilient — they keep moving forward even when plans are disrupted. That counts for personal or professional goals.
